Chris Gunness, the senior director for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, was being interviewed by Aljezeera when he became visibly distressed. As you can see in the clip above, the interview had to be cut short as he became visibly distressed. When it ended, he could no longer hold back the tears.
A veteran war correspondent, he told Aljezeera that ‘the rights of Palestinians and even their children are denied and it’s appalling’.
Mr. Gunness had been describing the Israeli attack on the Jabalia Elementary Girls School in which the Israel killed around 20 women and children and wounded dozens more. The victims were civilians who had been told to leave their homes after warnings from the Israeli military. The Israelis had been told more than 17 times that there were innocent women and children sheltering there and yet still chose to drop bombs on the school.
